I had the privilege to work with Nigel Ellis on the Indian Queens Black Start Project on behalf of National Grid for the above-mentioned dates.

Nigel came well recommended by former colleagues and these recommendations proved to be well founded.

His focus and attention to detail and completing the task irrespective of what was challenging were my main take aways from working with him.

The project was multi-faceted and involved the following.

- Civil works, multiple locations and involved piling, steelwork, concrete pouring often in very poor conditions.

- Mechanical works, Chimney Flues stack, 2x 1,25 Million Litre Fuel tanks

- Electrical works, 400v, 6,6 kV

- Generator supply and installation, 3 x 2,75 MVA MTU Diesel genset

- Enclosure manufacture, Logistics and placement

- Multiple Crane Lifts

For all of the above tasks Nigel addressed RAMS review, supervision when required and general Health and Safety.

His approach was one of being firm yet fair.

In addition to this Nigel could be relied on to address any Logistic requirements for the project when called upon.Personally, I could rely on Nigel having my back and supporting myself and the team irrespective of the time of day.

I would welcome the opportunity to work with Nigel again at any time and would recommend him to any potential employer.
